Ephesians 4:1-6
Title “Unity”.
1 As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a
life worthy of the calling you have received. 2 Be
completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. 3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through
the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one
Spirit—just as you were called to one hope when you were called— 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one
God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
1. Read verse 2 and reflect on these words. How does your recent behavior compare to
them?
2. Verse 3. How do
we keep unity? At all cost avoid
confrontation? Stay loose in principles?
How do the virtues in verse 2 help maintain unity?
3. There is on body.
What is the one body? Do you think the Jewish Christian church and Greek
Christian church easy to get along in the first century? In what way can they unite?
4. One Lord. When
we serve in church, how important is it for us to serve the one Lord? Name a few possible other lords.
5. One baptism.
Read 1 Corinthians 1:10-13. In
whose name we are baptized? Why do we
easily follow people rather than follow Jesus?
